Ted Sharon, associate chair and head of performance in the Department of Theatre and Dance, had an event-filled summer! First Sharon, along with four students from the department, assisted in the original musical production of, “South Pass the Musical,” the story of frontiersman Jedediah Strong Smith, the first white man to travel across the Rocky Mountains into California in the 1820s.

In addition, Sharon worked as assistant fight director for Disney’s, “Newsies,” on Broadway — and assisted in the production of Disney’s new musical, “Aladdin,” which will premiere on Broadway and in Toronto this fall.

Lastly, Sharon and over 30 SUNY Fredonia alumni and students once again orchestrated the annual Playground Drama Day Camp, which attracted more than 90 area youth campers. The camp, which completed its seventh season, featured productions of, “High School Musical, Jr.,” and, “Willy Wonka Kids,” in two separate week-long sessions.
