A unique learning experience apart from traditional Summer Session offerings at SUNY Fredonia awaits undergrads in the Interdisciplinary Studies course, “Explorations in Life Space, Life Roles & Identity.” The course will be taught for a week at the SUNY Fredonia College Lodge in Brocton, while students reside on-site.
The Special Topics course is being taught by one of SUNY Fredonia's international partners in India. The teacher is Dr. Indira J. Parikh, president of the Foundation for Liberal and Management Education (FLAME) of Pune, India. She will teach the course June 13-18 at the SUNY Fredonia College Lodge in Brocton. Exploratory in nature, the upper-level course is based on assumptions that an individual requires time, space and a person or persons with whom the individual can reflect on the journey of his or her life – to review the critical and hard-hitting events that have shaped it so far.
Due to the high level of participation and interactivity required in the course, students are required to remain on site for its one-week duration. The class will meet Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to noon. The fee for lodging and meals is $225 per student.
Enrollment in the course, which carries three credits, is limited to 15 students. For more information, contact Lifelong Learning and Special Programs at lifelong.learning@fredonia.edu
