An introduction to international relations will be the focus POLI 150 – U.S. and World Affairs, a May term class to be offered by the SUNY Fredonia Department of Political Science.
The three-credit course will examine international relations both historically and through current-day events such as war, international trade and globalization, terrorism, environmental degradation and human rights with a goal of understanding whether there is a world order, and if so, what determines it.
Through lectures and readings, along with film viewings, in-class discussion and debate, students will become familiar with the central concepts of world politics and develop their own understandings and explanations for how the world works.
The course meets the Social Sciences CCC requirement and there are no prerequisites. For more information, contact Dr. Alexander Caviedes at alexander.caviedes@fredonia.edu.
