Emily E. VanDette, associate professor of English, presented her research at the triennial conference of the Society for the Study of American Women Writers (SSAWW) in Philadelphia, Pa. on Nov. 5.

SSAWW brings together scholars from around the world with the mission of advancing the study of American women writers. Dr. VanDette's presentation examined the methodical erasure of antebellum women writers during the formative years of American literary studies.

VanDette is the author of several refereed articles, book chapters, and a scholarly monograph about American literature, and serves as a peer reviewer for two major scholarly journals.
