Dr. Ivani Vassoler of the Department of Politics and International Affairs edited the newly released book, "Reducing Latin America's Democratic Deficit from an Urban Perspective: Citizens, City Governments and the Limits of Change,” published by Scholars’ Press.
The 512-page book, based on several years of research in several Latin American cities, presents a critical view of democracy in the region and the role played by city residents in the attempts to enhance democratic politics at the local level. Dr. Vassoler is also the author of one of the book’s chapters.
