Fredonia Technology Incubator startup Venture Productions, LLC has collaborated with Tec-Ease, Inc., a provider of training programs and services to industry in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and other manufacturing environments, to film 10 “green screen” training videos.
Through the incubator’s extensive business development resources and assistance from Venture Productions, Tec-Ease was able to create a series of training videos designed to provide business owners with the knowledge and tools to develop their own assembly processes. The specialized videos will be released periodically in the coming months on Tec-Ease.com, where business owners can access GF&T training.
Versatile spaces within the incubator were a good fit for the project, according to Ted Sharon, founder of Venture Productions and head of Performance in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the State University of New York at Fredonia.
“One of the 'dry labs' was ideal to transform into a green screen studio. The facilities and support services at the incubator allowed us to move quickly as we had everything under one roof, and by the end of the day we had shot 10 green screen videos for our friends at Tec-Ease," Mr. Sharon said.
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is a system of rules, symbols and definitions that are used to define the geometry of mechanical parts. "GD&T allows companies to make more robust mechanical drawings to minimize scrap, rework and help with product assembly," said Wendy Patterson of Tec-Ease.
The incubator, which promotes economic growth in Western New York by supporting entrepreneurship and the development of new, innovative companies into successful business ventures, proved to be an invaluable resource for Venture Productions and the specialized instructor from Tec-Ease.
Founded in 1997, Tec-Ease has helped several hundred companies, such as American Axle, General Electric and Xerox, adopt GD&T concepts and American Society of Mechanical Engineers standards.
