Oscar Night posterDust off your Versace and slip on your Vera Wang…it’s Oscar Night at SUNY Fredonia! The Department of Campus Life, together with the campus group, Weekend HangOut Activities (WHOA), presents a celebration of cinema stars with its fifth annual red carpet Oscar Night, Sunday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m., in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room.

This “night on the town” includes plenty of food, including appetizers, “mocktails” and an elegant dinner. Attendees will be entertained with a movie-themed silent auction, celebrity games, and the live viewing of the 83rd annual Academy Awards on the Williams Center’s own silver screen.

All of this is available to all students, faculty and staff for just $20. Tickets are required and can be purchased at the SUNY Fredona Ticket Office in the Williams Center or through a student’s residence hall by Sunday, Feb. 13. Those with a meal plan can use a meal option or points to cover the cost. Seating is limited to less than 200 people, so don’t get left behind the velvet ropes! Red carpet attire is encouraged, but not required.

“Oscar Night gives everyone the chance to ‘walk the red carpet,’” said Erin Mroczka, assistant director of Campus Life. “Who wouldn’t like getting dressed up and acting like a celebrity for a night? A fancy dinner and mocktails are the perfect touch for a night like this. It’s an event that we always look forward to every year and we enjoy every moment.”
