Lisa Walters, assistant professor of operations management in the Department of Business Administration, had a paper she submitted in early February to the Quality Management Journal accepted for publication.

Dr. Walter’s paper, “Prioritization of Process Improvement Using Risk Evaluation in the Manufacturing of Biologics,” is a case study that explains the development of a risk matrix for prioritization of process improvements within a biologics firm. The matrix was developed using both qualitative and quantitative data and is continually updated in terms of process data as that data becomes available. The matrix allows the biologics firm to allot resources to those processes which pose the greatest risk to donors of biologic material, as well as the final recipient of such material.

Quality Management Journal is a peer-reviewed publication released four times a year. It publishes research related to quality management done by academic researchers as well as those who work in quality management fields.
