The Women’s and Gender Studies Program will be hosting a fall gathering with guest Vivek Shraya, artist and LGBT social justice activist, on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 3:30 p.m. in the Williams Center Room S204 ABC.

The event is free and open to all campus and community members.

Mr. Shraya will discuss his two of his novels, “God Loves Hair” and “She of the Mountain.”

Vivek is a Toronto-based artist working in the media of literature, music, performance, and film. His body of work includes 10 albums, four short films and three books. “She of the Mountain,” his debut novel, was named one of Toronto’s Globe and Mail’s Best Books of 2014. He has read and performed at shows, festivals, and post-secondary institutions internationally, and has appeared at NXNE, Word on the Street and Yale University.
