Senior Steve Zaprowski was named to the D3baseball.com All-Region Team on May 21. A two-time SUNYAC All-Conference selection, Zaprowski was named as a utility player. He was the Devils' leadoff hitter and right fielder. Zaprowski also served as the team's closer.
Zaprowski tied for the SUNYAC lead in saves with teammate Bailey Gauthier (Camillus/West Genesee) with four, and was 1-1 with a 2.70 ERA on the mound. He batted .358 with 39 hits and 15 RBI. He also had 15 walks for a .434 on-base percentage.
"Steve's strength was his competitiveness," said Head Coach Matt Palisin. "Steve played the game hard. He got our games started as our leadoff hitter, and he wanted the ball at the end as our closer. Steve played the game to win."
Zaprowski was all conference as a utility player last season. He graduated on May 19 with a 3.0 GPA in Finance.
He is the second Devil to earn all region as a utility player. In 2013, Jake Nowak went 2-1 in five starts, batted .377, and led the nation in toughest to strike out.
