We are excited to announce our new mentoring program for all secretarial/clerical staff on campus. The mentors are willing to help you get familiar with Fredonia and get acquainted with the polices and procedures on campus. Kim Hollman, Administrative Assistant I, Sociocultural & Justice Sciences.
(Academic Affairs Division)
B.A.- Interdisciplinary Studies- SUNY Fredonia
Kim started her career at Fredonia as an Administrative Assistant I in the English department in 2018 and transferred to the Sociocultural & Justice Sciences Department in 2022.
Prior to working at Fredonia, Kim began her career as a state employee with Lakeview Shock Incarceration and Correctional Facility as an Office Assistant I in 2017, Office Assistant II in 2018, and was then fortunate to receive the opportunity for another promotion, one which brought her to her alma mater.
Kim spent many years working in childcare while raising her children, including nearly seven years as an infant/toddler teacher at the Campus and Community Child Care Center here at Fredonia. Kim truly enjoyed the wonderful experiences and relationships she developed at the center, especially with the families, many of whom are part of our campus community.
Kim understands the challenges of transitioning from one agency to another, or even between departments. She enjoys helping new colleagues adjust to their positions and believes that making connections and supporting one another is the best way to promote a positive work environment. Dawn Hunt, Administrative Assistant II, President's Office
Dawn was promoted to Secretary II in the President's Office in October 2017.
Previously, Dawn was the Secretary for the Department of Biology since August of 2009. Prior to that she worked in the Purchasing Department and the Research Foundation Post Award Grants Administration Office. She has a total of 13 years of service with the State University of New York at Fredonia. She says being able to work in the Academic Affairs area, with the faculty, staff and students, is a wonderful experience, and one she would like to share with you!
In 2011, she completed the Business, Economics and Management Associates Degree with SUNY Empire State. She also attended Jamestown Business College in 1986 and earned a certificate in the Medical Office Assistant Program.

Kim Miller, Administrative Assistant II, Retention & Academic Success (Academic Affairs Division)
Kim is currently the Administrative Assistant 2 for Retention and Academic Success. She also has 15 years of experience within the Student Affairs Division.
Kim started as a temp at SUNY Fredonia in 2001 before becoming a permanent state employee with DOCCS, Lakeview Shock Incarceration and Correctional Facility’s Annex in 2003 as a Keyboard Specialist I. She then returned to SUNY Fredonia in 2006 working in the Admissions Office; briefly took a promotion with the Department of Labor before returning to campus permanently in 2010 where she worked in the Intercultural Center (Student Affairs) as an Administrative Assistant I.
In June 2022 Kim was promoted to Administrative Assistant II working for Retention and Academic Success.
She utilized the Tuition Benefits Program to assist her in earning an Associates in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2012 and a Bachelor of Science in Communications in 2015, both from Empire State College.
Kim is Co-Chair of the Secretarial/Clerical Professional Development Committee. She has over 20 years of state service with various agencies and is a part of the mentoring program because she knows that coming from a different agency takes time to adjust and wants to help new employees make Fredonia feel like home.

Caldwell Proper, Administrative Assistant I, Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry

B.A. English - State University of New York at Fredonia
Masters- Library Science - University at Buffalo
Caldie is currently the Administrative Assistant I in the Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry Departments.
Caldie started at Fredonia in November of 2015 as a Office Assistant 1 in Human Resources. She was promoted to a Library Clerk 2 in December 2016 and was then promoted to Administrative Assistant I in the Biology department in January of 2018. In September of 2021 she took on the Chemistry and Biochemistry department as well.
Prior to coming to Fredonia, Caldie was an Adjunct Reference Librarian at Jamestown Community College and before that a School Library Media Specialist.
Caldie is Co-Chair of the Secretarial/Clerical Professional Development Committee and has served on a number of committees across campus over the years.
As a lifetime resident of the Village of Fredonia, Caldie wants to share her knowledge of this university and town with new employees and show them what this campus and the community has to offer. Please contact her with any questions or concerns you may have.

Kellie Sacilowski, Administrative Assistant II, School of Music
(Academic Affairs Division)
Kellie is currently the Administrative Assistant 2 in the School of Music.
Kellie started her career at Fredonia in Facilities Services as an Office Assistant 1 in 2014, from there she was promoted in January 2016 to Administrative Assistant 1 in Applied Professional Studies and Economics. In November 2017 , Kellie transferred to The Rockefeller Arts Center as an Administrative Assistant to the Director.
Prior to working at Fredonia, Kellie worked for the New York State Department of Corrections at Lakeview Shock Incarceration and Correctional Facility as an Office Assistant I for 13 years. Since coming to Fredonia she feels blessed to be surrounded by so many amazing people to work with. She wants to be a mentor to new staff to show them what this campus has to offer.
Kellie is also the Treasurer for CSEA Local 607 Union and many other committees on campus.
She graduated from Jamestown Business College in 1998 with an Associates Degree in Administrative Assistant with a concentration in Information Processing. Karly Sutton, Program Aid, Office of the Registrar
B.S. Communications: Television Production - Ithaca College
Karly is currently the Program Aide in the Office of the Registrar.
She began her career here at Fredonia in October of 2010 as a KBS 1 in the Office of Admissions. She was then promoted to a Secretary 1 for the Learning Center where she supported DSS, FOP, Tutoring and the 313 program for 6 years. Karly then received a promotion in 2018 as the Program Aide in the Registrar’s Office. Before transferring to Fredonia, she worked for the NYS Department of Corrections in the Division of Parole.
Before beginning her state service, Karly lived in Los Angeles, CA for 6 years but is originally from Gowanda, NY. She now resides in Dunkirk with her husband and two children. Karly loves SUNY Fredonia and all it has to offer students and employees. She loves her job and helping students and other employees and cannot wait to assist new employees with their transition to Fredonia!

Stephanie Teachman, Administrative Assistant II, Office of the Provost
(Academic Affairs Division)
B.A. History – The State University of New York at Fredonia
Stephanie started her state service when she was a freshman at Fredonia working as a student assistant in Student Affairs. In June 2013 she returned as a part time Office Assistant I in Human Resources. Stephanie has worked in the Dean's Office for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, The Youngerman Center for Communication Disorders, the department of Computer and Information Sciences, and the Office of International Education - holding titles of Office Assistant I (Keyboarding), Office Assistant II, and Administrative Assistant I. In September of 2021, Stephanie was promoted to her current position.
Stephanie also has prior state service as a part time Toll Collector for the NYS Thruway Authority.
Stephanie is the President for CSEA Local 607. She has served on various CSEA and Campus committees, as well as being involved in the surrounding communities. Stephanie is excited to welcome new employees to Fredonia as well as share her experiences and knowledge with them.
