Dr. Frank and Sallie (Shapely) Pullano (at right) will receive the Jessie Hillman Award for Excellence at the Saturday, Nov. 10, Hillman Opera performance in Marvel Theatre.
Specially designed medals will be presented to the couple at 7:30 p.m. before the curtain rises on this year’s Hillman Opera. President Virginia Horvath will read a proclamation recognizing the honor that the Hillman Memorial Music Association bestows to recognize dedicated and respected musicians or educators who have demonstrated a passion for teaching or performance.
Four performances of “Suor Angelica” and “Gianni Schicchi” will be presented as the Hillman Opera this year. Performances are in Marvel Theatre and feature more than 110 students.
The curtain time is 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, 9 and 10, with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Nov. 11.
