This award was established by the family of Kristen M. Luther. Kristen was a Speech Language Pathologist who helped many children whose speech was affected by autism, cerebral palsy, and other disabilities. After earning both a bachelor's and master's degree from the Speech-Language Pathology Program at Fredonia in 2000 and 2001, Kristen worked for United Cerebral Palsy in Buffalo, Tampa Public Schools, and several families in both New York and Florida. Kristen's life tragically ended at the age of 28.
This award is given to a full time graduate student in the Communication Disorders and Sciences Program who intends to work with disabled children. The Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences in consultation with the Luther family are responsible for selecting the recipient.
