“Some Like It Hot,” Fredonia’s premiere all-female a cappella group, will be hosting its eighth annual invitational, “ACAFEST,” on Saturday, March 28 at 7 p.m. in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room.
The public is invited to enjoy a night full of music, old and new, from both on and off-campus a cappella groups.
Tickets are available at $2 for students and $5 for non-students in the Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center.
Other on-campus groups will be set to perform including “Much More Chill,” “Dynamic Intonation” and “The Riveters.” In addition, there will be two off-campus guest groups performing, “Between the Lines,” a co-ed a cappella group from SUNY Geneseo, and the “Buffalo Chips,” the University of Buffalo’s all male a cappella group.
“Some Like It Hot” is Fredonia’s first, oldest and premier all female a cappella group, which was founded in 2001 under the name “Out of the Blue.” The group started fresh with the new name in 2002. The group sings songs from rock, to pop, to hip hop. Each year, ACAFEST provides Fredonia’s campus and community an entertaining show and celebration of collegiate a cappella music.
