Welcome Week will serve up a wide variety of activities spanning four evenings at the Williams Center to help launch the 2015 spring term at Fredonia.

Zumba classes taught by Eva Mancarella, a first-year student majoring in musical theatre, and Paul Mockovak, professor of Theatre and Dance, get the ball rolling on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 7 p.m., at the Williams Center Multipurpose Room. Participants will have a chance to win a fitness gift basket.

Students who enjoy the spotlight are invited to the stage at Tim Hortons in the Williams Center for open mic and karaoke on Wednesday, Jan. 21, beginning at 7 p.m. Performers will be eligible to win iTunes gift cards.

The wildly popular Build Your Own Garbage Plate night returns on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 7 p.m. at the Williams Center Multipurpose Room. Students get to build their own plates with food prepared by Faculty Student Association Catering, so they know whatever combination they come up with, it’ll be delicious. Last year’s event quickly sold out so another 100 plates will be added to bring the total to 350. A big helping of trivia will also be served and prizes given away.

Bingo, the most popular event that Welcome Week host Spectrum Entertainment Board conducts, will be staged on Friday, Jan. 23, 7 p.m., at the Williams Center Multipurpose Room. Prizes will be given away during six bingo rounds.

Another Spectrum event, Activities Night, will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Steele Hall Fieldhouse. Table requests will be on FSU4U for clubs to register.

Welcome Week activities are free and open to students and are sponsored by the Student Association. Faculty and staff are invited to drop by and meet students.
