The New Paltz Hawks would take care of the Fredonia State baseball team to the tune of a 15-2 score on Sunday afternoon. The Devils would collect only four hits on the day, two off the bat of Cole Schraufstetter.

After striking out the first two batters to start the game, Morgan Zientara would walk the next four to plate a run. The Hawks then followed through with their first hit of the game, plating two more, giving them a 3-0 lead after a half inning of play.

In the bottom half, bases-loaded walks to Christian Cabrera and Tyler Curtis would give the Devils a pair of runs, but that is all the scoring they would muster for the game.

New Paltz added two more in the second. After a scoreless third, they tacked on one in the fourth, and two each in the fifth and sixth. A five-run seventh would conclude the scoring for the day. The Hawks hit four homeruns, including a pair by Matt Sarni.

Kyle Tedford and Christian Cabrera had the other two hits for Fredonia State. Zientara suffered the loss, moving to 1-4.

Kiran Paingankar earned the win with six innings of work, giving up two runs.

The Devils take on New Paltz in a Noon doubleheader on Monday to complete the three-game set.
