SUNY Fredonia alumnus Bradley “Brad” Brown
Bradley “Brad” Brown, a 2021 graduate of SUNY Fredonia, will share his experiences as a medical student on Oct. 31.
The talk, to be held at 4 p.m.in Houghton Hall Room 236, will focus on his experiences as a fourth-year medical student at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He will discuss study techniques for pre-health students and answer questions about life in medical school, and in preparing for health professional schools.
Brown, who earned his B.S. in Biochemistry from SUNY Fredonia, was the recipient of the Lanford President Prize at Commencement, the highest recognition for a graduating senior. The prize is funded through the Oscar and Esther Lanford Endowment in the Fredonia College Foundation.
Brown also participated in the first two SUNY Fredonia study abroad programs to Honduras.
At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, also in Houghton Room 236, Dr. Leila Amiri, who is Associate Dean for Admissions at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine, will offer insight on applying for medical school. She will speak about the application process and how to develop a strong application. Dr. Amiri previously served as Associate Dean for Admissions and Recruitment at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
Both talks will include valuable information for all pre-health students.
