On a day full of personal-best performances, several stood out Saturday during Fredonia's participation at Utica College's Blue and Orange Invitational indoor track and field meet.

Top performances by Blue Devil men included: 

A one-two finish in the pole vault. Gus Alvarez Jr. (North Lake, Ill./Elmwood Park) won the event by clearing 4.65 meters (15 feet, 3 inches). Jonah McGrath (Penfield/Penfield) finished second at 4.50 meters (14 feet, 9 inches).

Dan Sudyn (West Seneca/West Seneca West) won the triple jump with a distance of 13.41 meters (44 feet), while Griffin Dombroske (Camillus/West Genesee) was fifth. Sudyn was also second in the long jump (6.59 meters / 21 feet, 7.50 inches).

Nick Serafin (Depew/Depew) was second in the high jump at 1.88 meters (6 feet, 2 inches). 

Marcus Torres (Goshen/Goshen) had a time of 51.73 seconds in the 400 meters, good for seventh place. Alex Wright (East Greenbush/Columbia), also competing in the 400, finished 10th with a personal-best 52.08 seconds.

Other notable performances: Devin Wiencek (Clarence Center/Clarence), a weight throw of 11.44 meters (37 feet, 6.50 inches); Mike DeLand (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) in the 400 meters (:52.76); Matthew Erman (East Meadow/East Meadow) in the 1,000 meters (2:43).

On tap next weekend are meets in Boston, Mass., and Tiffin, Ohio.
