Fredonia State Men's Hockey faced off against SUNYAC opponent, Brockport in a Saturday night matchup. The Blue Devils were able to shut down the Golden Eagles with a final score of 4-0.

The Devils were led by Ethan Kirbis, Johnny Aonso and Matt Letmanski. Letmanski was able to find the back of the net twice, out of Fredonia States' four goals. Goaltender Logan Dyck had an outstanding performance stopping all 28 shots to give Fredonia State its first SUNYAC shutout of the year.

Fredonia State came out firing on all cylinders, netting their first goal of the game 12:06 into the first period. Brockport's defenseman tried clearing the puck off the glass, but Kieran Furlonger caught the clearing attempt and found Letmanski on the back door.

The Blue Devils finished off the period strong, holding onto the 1-0 lead. Fredonia State outshot Brockport, 15-6 in the first period.

Fredonia State dominated the second period on both ends of the ice, scoring 3 unanswered goals.

The Devils second goal of the game came off of a rebound shot from Antonio Demacopoulos. His shot went off of the goalie and came right out to the stick of Kirbis, who put the Devils up 2-0. This goal came 2:12 into the second period

The Devils third goal of the game was scored by Aonso, with the assist by Kirbis, at the 5:38 mark.

Letmanski scored the Devils fourth and final goal of the game, after Brockport's goalie mishandled the puck. Letmanski took advantage of the opportunity, finding the loose puck and scoring the unassisted goal.

The Blue Devils closed out the second period with a score of 4-0, while outshooting the Golden Eagles 13-9.

With great defensive play, the Devils were able to shut down all six of Brockport’s powerplay opportunities.

The Blue Devils were able to maintain the lead for the remainder of the game, and obtain the shutout.

SUNY Brockport falls to 13-9-2 overall and 6-7-2 in the SUNYAC conference.

Fredonia State improves to 8-9-1 overall and 6-7-0 in the SUNYAC conference.

The Blue Devils are back home on Friday night against SUNY Oswego.
