The Fredonia State baseball team needed to play catchup, and exploded for eight runs in the final two innings to claim a 14-10 win over River on Sunday. The Devils finish their Myrtle Beach swing with a 4-0 record.

Anthony Kinney kept a hot bat with three hits, including a pair of triples and three RBI. Luke Kenyon and Jacob Wentland also added three hits. Kenyon doubled twice and Wentland tripled and scored twice and drove in two. Tyler Phillips was 2-4, and Patrick Bigham hit a two-run homered in the top of the third. The Devils totaled 15 hits for the game.

Down 8-6 after seven, Fredonia State plated six in the eighth. Kenyon doubled, and Jordan Maher was hit by a pitch. Wentland singled in Maher, which was followed by a pair of walks and two wild pitches, giving the Devils a 9-8 lead. Kinney then hit a two-run single to put his team up 11-8. A single by Phillips and intentional walk to Bigham reloaded the bases. A sacrifice fly by Kenyon put the Devils up 12-8.

Fredonia State tacked on two more in the ninth. Christian Brown doubled in his first college at bat. Wentland tripled, then would come home on a ground out.

Rivier used a walk and homerun to score a pair in the bottom of the ninth. Nate O'Brochta -- who came on in the eighth with the bases loaded and the tying run at the plate -- struck out the next two batters to preserve the lead. He would be credited with the save.

Ryan Hann took the win on the mound. He threw the sixth and seventh, giving up three runs. Josh Posnick started, going 3 1/3 giving up four. Alex Bellet tossed 1 2/3 giving up one run. Ken Jaroszek saw 1/3 inning after allowing a hit and pair of walks.

The Devils head to Florida for 10 games on Thursday.
