Regan Walton, a fourth-semester Resident Assistant in University Commons, has been named RA of the Month for March by the Office of Residence Life.

Ms. Walton, of Rochester, N.Y., is a junior majoring in Early Childhood and Childhood Education. Her hobbies include dance, crafting and watching the Buffalo Bills.

The favorite part of the RA position for Walton “… has been meeting new people and making meaningful connections with residents.”

The spring term will be Walton’s last semester as a Resident Assistant, as she will be student teaching in the Fredonia area next semester.

Walton was nominated by Fred DiLorenzo, who serves as Residence Director of University Commons, who noted that “Regan has shown an in-depth understanding of the Institutional Learning Goals. She has gone above and beyond with thought-out programs that are effective in keeping the residents engaged within the hall.”

Moreover, Walton is able to balance the RA position with classes and clubs while also being a substitute teacher in local schools. Mr. DiLorenzo indicated that Walton has a welcoming personality that makes everyone feel comfortable and that “if there is ever a concern or an issue within the building, there is no doubt in my mind that Regan would be able to respond in an appropriate and professional manner.”
