Using one’s voice to advocate and inspire change is the mission of renowned consultant William M. Blackford IV.
The Intercultural Center is bringing Mr. Blackford to campus to lead an engaging conversation, “Lift Every Voice and …,” on Wednesday, Feb. 19, that explores change and how it can be achieved. The session at 6 p.m. in Williams Center Room S204 is free and open to the public.
“I’ve heard him speak a number of times; he’s a very engaging, dynamic and moving speaker,” said David White, director of the Office of Multicultural Support Services. One of those times was on campus earlier this year, when Blackford gave a leadership presentation to student leaders on an Intercultural Center retreat.

That presentation was superb, Mr. White recalled. “All of the student leaders indicated it was amazing, a lot of fun, very engaging.”
White has known Blackford for nearly 10 years, and both are active and financial members of the Phi Omega chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity that’s based in Buffalo, N.Y. Blackford joined the international fraternity in 1988 as a student at the University of Louisville; White joined in 1990, while at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Blackford, who founded his own consulting firm and is also an ordained minister, specializes in executive coaching, equity strategy and organizational development and has driven transformative success at Fortune 500 companies. He guides organizations through complex challenges, aligning initiatives with mission-driven values and inspiring high-performing teams to achieve sustainable success.
