Fredonia State women's track and field team had one athlete compete at the Regional level. On March 4, Hayley Lerner traveled to Nazareth College in Rochester, N.Y., to compete in the pole vault event, after qualifying for AARTFC. As a freshman Blue Devil, this would be her first regional appearance.
Lerner was able to place No.9 out of 18 different athletes involved. She did so by setting a personal best height of 3.37m. She was able to achieve this height on her third attempt, after easily vaulting 3.07m and 3.22m on her first attempts.
"As a freshman, she has had a very strong start to her career," said coach Tom Wilson. "She is very coachable and really is eager to learn and set goals for the future. I'm glad she is here at Fredonia State and I look forward to her future."
An excellent finish to the season for Lerner, as she looks to build for her future performances.
