For the second consecutive game, AJ Knight recorded a double-double -- including season-highs of 28 points and 12 rebounds -- in leading the Fredonia State men's basketball team to a 71-70 victory over SUNY Buffalo State University.

Aaron Collins added 16 points and My'Kell Kaigler had 11.

The Devils used the three-point shot to take an early lead. Their first nine points were on threes -- two by Collins and one by Knight -- as they went up 9-5.

Up 18-12, the Devils pulled away on a 17-3 run taking a 33-15 lead. Kaigler keyed the spurt with nine points.

The Devils went into the half with a 40-23 lead. Collins led the team with 12, and Knight had eight points, six rebounds, and three assists. They held Buff State to 8-34 (24 percent) shooting from the floor. The Devils were 6-11 on threes, while the Bengals went 1-8.

The Devils biggest lead of 18 points came at the 16:29 mark of the second half following a jumper by Knight, putting the Devils up 46-28.

From there, Buffalo State began to chip away. They would eventually take the lead at the 5:25 mark following a layup by Matt Parkinson. A basket on the next possession put them up 62-59. Following the 18-point deficit, the Bengals outscored Fredonia State 34-13 to take the lead.

The Devils would take back the lead and hang on for the victory. They are now 1-10 in the SUNYAC and 1-17 overall. Buffalo State drops to 0-10 and 1-15 overall.

The Devils travel to Oneonta and New Paltz next weekend.
