Mr. Sudbrink served as a Blue Devil assistant captain and sported a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout his five years at Fredonia State. The graduate student from Nolensville, TN, is majoring in Public Accounting and Finance.
The SUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year Award combines academic achievement with success in the arena of athletic competition. Nominating information includes cumulative grade point average, current and career statistics, and athletic and academic honors.
He was also honored with another prestigious award — the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence, the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a student by the university system, according to SUNY Chancellor John B. King Jr.
Sudbrink had 4 goals and 8 assists while playing in 24 of the team's 25 games this year. For his four-year career, he appeared in 95 of his team's 97 games and totaled 40 points with 17 goals and 23 assists. What would have been his first year of competition was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
