“The World of Science Without Our Input” will be presented in a non-partisan, civic engagement talk on Wednesday, April 16.

SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor Michael Jabot will explore the impacts of recent White House executive orders. His talk will take place in the Williams Center Blue Lounge at SUNY Fredonia from noon to 12:50 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

As a faculty member in the College of Education, Health Sciences, and Human Services, Dr. Jabot’s insights will assist students and colleagues to better understand how these executive actions might impact society, industries and communities.

Jabot is actively involved with science diplomacy with the United Nations as well as with governmental agencies and NGOs (non-governmental organizations).

Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer Vicki T. Sapp will moderate the program. T'Kaia Parke, a senior Criminal Justice major, with a minor in Computer Science, and a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Belonging and Accessibility Student Ambassador, from Staten Island, NY, will introduce Jabot and open the concluding question-and-answer dialogue with Jabot. Attendees are invited to ask questions.

Dr. Sapp will recite the Inclusion Challenge Pledge and invite attendees to sign a hard copy of the pledge form they will find placed on each seat. Everyone will be asked to hand in the pledge, face-down, whether they have signed it or not, on a table at the back of the lounge.

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is sponsoring “The World of Science Without Our Input” talk.
