The “Best of Ottawa,” a showcase of audience favorites and award winners from the 2013 Ottawa International Animation Festival, will be presented by the Department of Visual Arts and New Media on Thursday, Sept. 11, at McEwen Hall Room 209.
The screening runs from 8:30 to 10 p.m., is free and open to students, faculty and staff, and is intended for mature audiences.
Eleven features created by animation artists from Japan, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Canada and Norway comprise the year’s collection. Highlights include the elegant “Virtuoso Virtual” by Thomas Stellmach and Maja Oschmann, Eirik Grønmo Bjørnsen and Anna Mantzaris' inspiring “But Milk is Important” and Rosto's macabre grand-prize winner “Lonely Bones.”
The Ottawa showcase tours internationally from November 2013 until mid-September 2014.
