That’s the call runners can expect to hear at the Franklin B. Krohn 5K Memorial Run, which steps off at SUNY Fredonia’s main entrance on Central Avenue on Sunday, April 15, at noon.
The race is being put together by SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) as a tribute to Dr. Krohn, a Distinguished Service Professor of marketing in the Business Department and faculty member for three decades, who died unexpectedly during the past winter break. Student members of Running 2 Remember, the SIFE team behind the race, are Michael Budniewski, Andrea Chase, Michael DiPalma, Timothy Lupo and Jena Tyra.
The 3.1-mile course will be run on portions of Central Avenue and Temple Street before returning to campus, where it picks up Old Main Road and Science Drive and embarks on the Ring Road loop and finishes at Symphony Circle.
Day of race registration begins at 10 a.m. at the Central Avenue entrance. Entry fee is $10 for SUNY Fredonia students, $15 for non-students. Checks are to be made payable to Running 2 Remember. The top male and female runner will receive awards. Refreshments will be served.
Money raised through registration fees and individual donations will help support a scholarship established in Dr. Krohn’s name. Supporting race sponsors include FredCard and Wal-Mart.
Registration information, including the application form, is available online. Completed applications can be dropped off at 336 Thompson Hall, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., through Friday.
The race will be staged, rain or shine.
