The date for the annual Fredonia State hockey team's Pink the Rink game has been selected.
The sixth annual event will be held Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 when the Blue Devils take on Morrisville State in a SUNYAC regular-season contest. The action will begin at 7 p.m. in Steele Hall Ice Arena.
The Blue Devils will once again don their pink jerseys and socks for the event, and once again, the authentic, game-worn jerseys will be for sale with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
This season the team is offering the same, popular way for the jerseys to be purchased.
Here's how it will work: For $250, individuals or groups can purchase a jersey and have the last name of a loved one printed on the back of the jersey. Each Blue Devil player will wear the pink jersey during warm-ups and throughout the game.
This generous tribute to a loved one will be seen by all in attendance at the game.

"We feel it will be an inspirational evening and are excited about joining in the fight against breast cancer," said head coach Jeff Meredith.
