The Kaleidoscope Family Series at Rockefeller Arts Center will present “The Vocal Illusions of Lynn Trefzger, Comedy Ventriloquist” on Friday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. in Marvel Theatre.

Trefzger is a ventriloquist/comedienne with a trunk full of zany characters that accompany her to stages throughout the country. She last appeared at Fredonia in 2010.

“You don’t have to have kids with you in order to enjoy this show,” said Jefferson Westwood, director of Rockefeller Arts Center. “Lynn Trefzger’s show has universal age appeal.”

Audience members, however, will need to keep one fact in mind – your voice is not necessarily your own when you’re at Lynn Trefzger’s show. You could find yourself up on stage next to a rather obnoxious camel or with a new baby you didn’t even realize you had.

Trefzger is known for her off-the-wall audience interplay that is described as “riotously funny.” Her performance will be tailored for family audiences, making for an evening that will be lively and fun for children and adults alike.

As the Courier Post in Atlantic City, N.J. said, “Trefzger is an excellent technician and a bright, inventive comedian…the result is a gem of a routine…a first rate entertainer!”

In 2006, she was named the “Funniest Female Performer of the Year” by Campus Activities Magazine, based on the votes of thousands of college students nationwide.

Her vocal illusion talents were first brought to national audiences on TV’s popular “Star Search” program and she has since performed with artists including Jeff Foxworthy, Ray Romano, The Smothers Brothers and Drew Carey. Trefzger has also appeared on ABC, TNN, A&E and Lifetime television.

Trefzger’s special performances include The Duke Children’s Classic – Duke Hospital Celebrity Golf Classic with Jeff Foxworthy as its chairman. Thousands of dollars were raised to support the Duke Children’s Hospital.

Trefzger also enjoys performing aboard the Disney Cruise Lines, at Atlantis Resort & Casino, at arts centers and at numerous corporate and university engagements.

“The Vocal Illusions of Lynn Trefzger, Comedy Ventriloquist” is part of the 2014-15 Lake Shore Savings Season. The series sponsor is the Observer and the event sponsor is First Niagara Bank. The show is approximately 60 minutes long and is recommended for ages 6 and up.

Tickets are available through the Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center, by phone at 716-673-3501 or online.
