Commencement WebsiteComplete Commencement 2010 information for students, families, and faculty/staff is available via the Commencement website.

Commencement is slated for Saturday, May 15, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., in the Steele Hall Arena. Bachelor’s, master’s and advanced certificate candidates graduate together and the ceremonies are separated by major; there is a link on the Commencement website listing which majors graduate in the morning and afternoon. Tickets are also color-coded for each ceremony.

Students planning to graduate and participate in Commencement must apply for their degree in the Office of the Registrar in Reed Library by Monday, Feb. 8. Students are eligible to participate in one of two ceremonies in the Steele Hall Arena if they meet one of the following conditions:

  • The student completed or anticipates completing bachelor's/master's degree or advanced certificate requirements in May or August 2010.
  • The student completed degree or certificate requirements in August or December 2009, or January 2010, and did not participate in either of the May 2009 Commencement ceremonies.

There is also an appeal process for students who will be completing requirements no later than December 2010 who wish to participate in one of this year’s ceremonies. The process begins with a student applying for his/her degree and then completing an Appeal form at the Registrar’s Office in Reed Library.

Ticket distribution for both ceremonies will begin in mid-April; dates and locations are listed on the website. Tickets are free and distributed only to students with a valid I.D., not family members.
