A Flood Victim Relief Drive held Wednesday and Thursday on campus yielded over 1,500 health and personal care items as well as cash, gift cards and gift certificates to benefit those affected by the recent flood damage in Silver Creek and Gowanda. Faculty and staff, students, and members of the community delivered contributions to the Williams Center.

Items collected included personal hygiene products such as soap, washcloths, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, combs/brushes, nail clippers/tweezers, shaving supplies, feminine products, and staples such as toilet paper, liquid soap, hand sanitizer, and Kleenex. Cash donations totaling $1,043.60 and $405 in WalMart and Tops gift cards were also donated, as well as gift certificates for Blasdell Pizza.

Several bags of non-perishable foods were accepted as well for the effort.

SUNY Fredonia's Employee Assistance Program Committee and Health Center contacted relief workers in the devastated areas in order to coordinate the drive with community activities.

Anyone unable to bring donations to the Williams Center who would still like to contribute should contact Laurie Ensign, EAP coordinator, at 716-673-3586.
