Fredonia will be holding its Student Research and Creativity Exposition once again on Thursday, April 26, from noon to 5 p.m..

Getting its start 20 years ago, the event has grown from a small gathering in which students from disciplines in the natural and social sciences came to share their research, to a campus-wide event. Since becoming the coordinator of the event, Dr. Jack Croxton of the Department of Psychology and director of the Office of Student Creative Activity and Research (OSCAR), has worked to expand the program to involve students from all disciplines who would like to participate.
A warm buffet will be provided in the Multipurpose Room of the Williams Center beginning at noon. There will be introductory remarks at 12:15 p.m. in Williams Center Room Room S204 from President Virginia Horvath, Provost Terry Brown, followed by a keynote address from Dr. Jill Reese of the School of Music. Her talk is entitled, “Reciprocative Growth: Mentorship in Student-Faculty Research."
Students will then have the opportunity to show their work through posters, presentations and performances during assigned time slots from 1 to 5 p.m. Most will be in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room, and others will be placed in rooms throughout the Williams Center.
For many students this is the culmination of their academic careers. According to Dr. Croxton, "This is truly a day to celebrate the significant accomplishments of our students."
All members of the Fredonia campus and individuals from the community are invited to attend. There will be snacks throughout the afternoon provided by the Fredonia Student Association.
