On Thursday, Oct. 1, SUNY Fredonia will be the venue for a panel discussion on Health Care Reform. The two-hour event begins at 7 p.m. in Williams Center S104. Sponsors are the College Democrats, Political Science Association, American Democracy Project, and the department of political science.
Dr. David Rankin, political science department chairperson, will moderate the panel.
Panelists are Kendra Harris, former case worker for BlueCross BlueShield and Regional Assistant for U.S Senator Kirsten Gillibrand; Jonathan Lawrence, President and CEO of Lake Erie Regional Health System of New York; Dr. Richard Jankowski, Political Science Professor whose expertise is political parties and voting patterns; and Dr. Alex Caviedes, Political Science Assistant Professor, who studies world health care systems.
There will be questions from the moderator to guide discussion from the panelists followed by questions from the audience.
Adam Malchoff of the College Democrats, one of the organizers, said, "This is an urgent issue in our country as of now, and many citizens remain uneducated on the topic. This panel is meant to educate fellow students and community members."
