High school juniors from local school districts and students from the Cassadaga Job Corps Center will be making visits to the College of Education this month.

Pam Enser, coordinator of Student Services, and Amy Chavez, coordinator for Early Field Experiences, have invited juniors identified by local school districts to come and visit the university on Tuesday, April 22. While on campus they will meet with the Dean, Chairs, and Faculty of the College of Education as well as with admissions counselors, financial aid experts, and current education undergraduates. They will also take a campus tour.

On Tuesday, April 29, a group of students from Cassadaga Job Corps will be meeting with Janet Knapp, interim director for the Education Development Program, and Averl Otis, director for Multicultural Affairs. They will also tour the campus with student ambassadors from the admissions department.  Job Corps is an educational setting supporting the career preparation of more than 300 students annually, offering GED, High School Diploma preparation, Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), BOCES School of Practical Nursing (LPN), CVS/pharmacy Tech, Culinary Arts, Carpentry, Electrical, Painting, and Plumbing certifications. Job Corps also prepares students in post-secondary planning. The goal of this visit is having the students learn more about the university, the admissions process and how to obtain financial aid. They will also meet with students presently attending SUNY Fredonia.
