The annual People of Color Concerns Conference is focusing on careers this Saturday, April 22, starting at 10 a.m. with a breakfast in Cafe G, followed by a viewing of the "Wrapped in Pride" exhibit in the Reed Library walkway. Registration is $7 for students, $14 for others, and includes attendance at the Black Student Union Fashion Show that night.
Keynote speaker, Supreme Court Justice Rose Sconiers, will address the group during lunch at 1:30 p.m. in Cafe G. Before and after her talk, “In Pursuit of Success” will feature workshops about professions that reflect popular majors on campus. All in McEwen Hall, they are:
- music business by Bruce Eaton, noon, Room G-24;
- public relations by Dacia Patrick, '03, 12:45 p.m., G-26;
- business by Emma Hamilton at 2:20 in G026;
- theatre and performing arts by Lorna C. Hill at 3:05 p.m., G-24.
That evening, the conference venue moves to the annual Black Student Union Fashion Show, “Allusion: A Play on Fashion,” at 8 p.m. in the Williams Center. The conference ends Sunday with a closing breakfast and gospel singing at 10:30 a.m. in Café G.
