SUNY Fredonia’s Performing Arts Company (PAC) will be performing, “God (a Play),” written by Woody Allen. The performances, which will be held outdoors in the amphitheater on the SUNY Fredonia quad, will be held on at 5:30 p.m. on April 28, and at 6:30 p.m. on April 29-30. The performances are free and open to the public.
Students in the production are excited to prove that four walls, sets and lights aren’t needed to put on a show — just strong writing and comedic timing.
Allen’s “play within a play” is meant to be set in an amphitheater, where a Greek actor and a writer are discussing how to end a play. During their conversation other actors join to try and answer the metaphysical and philosophical questions, trying to decide if the play lacks a beginning as well as an ending.
