Fredonia Radio Systems will host its annual Rock’n the Commons benefit for Roswell Park Cancer Institute this Saturday, April 16, from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. in the Barker Commons in downtown Fredonia.

The event, which is free to attend, features many fundraising opportunities which will go directly to Roswell Park to benefit leukemia research and patient care. In case of rain, the event will be relocated to the First United Methodist Church at 25 Church St. in downtown Fredonia.

The event includes live music by a variety of local bands, a children’s fair put on by the Teachers Education Club (TEC), and raffles for many great prizes, including four VIP tickets to “The Daily Show” in New York City and a free summer course at SUNY Fredonia.

A Chiavettas chicken dinner, which does require tickets, will be served starting at 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $7 at the SUNY Fredonia ticket office, or at the event for $8.

WNYF, SUNY Fredonia’s campus television station, will also broadcast live from the event on channel 17 in Fredonia and channel 19 in Dunkirk.

Rock’n the Commons is an annual benefit for Roswell Park Cancer Institute sponsored by SUNY Fredonia Radio Systems, WNYF, and the TEC. Last year’s event raised more than $2,500. To learn more, visit www.fredoniaradio.com
