A program to showcase the strength and breadth of the offerings of the State University of New York, “Operation Inform,” will be hosted Thursday, Sept. 27, in the Williams Center at SUNY Fredonia. Attending will be over 100 school guidance counselors from 49 schools within a 100 mile radius of the university.
Director of Admissions Christopher Dearth noted, “It is an absolute pleasure to host these high school professionals for SUNY Operation Inform. Not only are we highlighting the value and importance of a SUNY education, we are also showcasing Fredonia.”
The program runs from 8 a.m. until 1:45 p.m., ending with a SUNY Fredonia campus tour. Operation Inform is a program for local high school guidance/school counselors to get to know SUNY better and highlight the many programs that Fredonia offers. The event also serves as a professional forum for discussion of admission policies and procedures with the local guidance community. The Operation Inform program promotes the quality and diversity of the SUNY campuses, and is an opportunity for secondary school counselors to obtain up-to-date information on SUNY admission and financial aid programs, as well as new areas of study. In addition, counselors are able during the sessions to discuss a variety of other college-related issues with SUNY admission representatives.
In addition to the guidance community there will be 27 SUNY schools represented at the program as well as SUNY Administration.
The program is sponsored in cooperation with the SUNY College Admissions Professionals (SUNYCAP).
