The History Club has a threefold purpose:
- to share cultural history of Fredonia and Chautauqua County
- to draw together students who love history
- and to educate the campus community about historical events that influence society
Major Activities
History Club’s weekly meetings always offer something new and exciting. We discuss current and historical events, host Professors from our department, visit the archives of Daniel A. Reed Library, watch documentaries, and play games with a historical “twist.”
Apart from weekly meetings, History Club also visits and tours historical sites. We have taken local trips to Old Fort Niagara, Dunkirk Lighthouse, Genesee Country Village, Forest View Cemetery, and the Buffalo River tour. History Club has also travelled to Gettysburg PA, Boston MA, and Washington DC! Stay tuned, we are planning a trip to Philadelphia soon!
Membership Requirements
Membership is open to all Fredonia students, faculty, and staff. For further information, contact either the current President or Vice-President.
We meet every Thursday at 8pm in the History Department Reading Room (Thompson E329), unless otherwise specified!
