Our History:
Food insecurity is common at colleges and universities across the country potentially impacting the educational success of many students. It is hard to concentrate when you are hungry or worrying about where your next meal is going to come from. The Fredonia Campus Food Pantry was created in the fall of 2016 as a pilot project and has grown to two locations serving hundreds of students each year. In alignment with our campus strategic plan, the campus food pantry not only provides a basic necessity for survival, it promotes wellness and well being of our campus community. Recently, with grant monies from SUNY, we were able to transform our food pantry into a basic needs center offering not only food, but hygiene and wellness products as well.
Our Mission:
Our mission at the SUNY Fredonia Campus Basic Needs Center is to ensure every student has access to essential hygiene, wellness products, and nutritious food, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Our Vision:
Lending a helping hand to those in need.
