David M. White
Duties
His duties as EOP Director include overall administration of the program which encompasses providing comprehensive support to students; supervision of counseling and secretarial staff; management and distribution of EOP direct and deferred funds while working with the financial aid office to utilize other sources of funding; recruitment, review, and selection of incoming students in conjunction with the admissions office; developing effective methods to improve and maintain high EOP retention and graduation rates; and developing associations and programs with alumni to promote, advocate, support, and serve the Educational Development Program and its constituencies within the university system.
Before EOP
Prior to starting with EOP in August 2010, Mr. White served in Fredonia's Admissions office as an admissions counselor/minority recruiter. Among other duties he was the coordinator of campus tours and tour guides, peer recruitment, and multicultural weekend programs. From 1998-2005 he played in the Arena Football League with the Tampa Bay Storm and Buffalo Destroyers in the fullback/linebacker positions. He also spent three seasons with the National Football League's Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots as a linebacker.
Qualifications
David holds both a Master's degree in Student Personnel Administration from SUNY College at Buffalo and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with minors in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. You may reach Mr. White at David.White@fredonia.edu.
