As a newly accepted undergraduate student, you should follow the below steps after receiving your acceptance packet.  For the most up to date information, please contact the International Student Services Office.

  1. OBTAIN AN F-1 VISA:  Included in your packet is the I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility).  This will serve as your resident permit during your stay.  You must pay a fee associated with this I-20.  You can pay online at www.fmjfee.com.  Once you pay the fee, you can print the I-901 receipt.  Then, make an appointment with the US consulate nearest you.  Take your I-20, I-901, FSA-4, and any financial documents to that appointment.

  1. PAY THE ACCEPTED STUDENT DEPOSIT: To confirm acceptance of your offer of admission, go online to: www.fredonia.edu/about/offices/student-accounts/payments and pay the $50 deposit.

  1. ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS AND INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION:  The fall semester starts on August 22, but new students should plan to arrive on campus by August 15 or 16 to attend the international student orientation.  Before making flight arrangements, please review our airport pickup service to determine if you will use it.  (More information on Orientation and Airport pick-up can be found by clicking here!)

  1.  COMPLETE HEALTH HISTORY FORM:  Information on how to fill out the form will be emailed to you about 1 month before the start of the semester.

  1. FILL OUT YOUR HOUSING APPLICATION:  Instructions on how to register for housing will be emailed to you.

  1. PURCHASE MANDATORY HEALTH INSURANCE:  The State University of New York contracts with HTH Worldwide Health Insurance to provide medical, evacuation and repatriation insurance coverage for $1,084.50 for the fall and spring semesters.  You will be emailed more information and a brochure for that policy.  ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS MUST ENROLL IN THIS POLICY.

  1. COURSE REGISTRATION: If you are a new undergraduate student, the Registrar’s Office will prepare your class schedule for your first semester.  When you arrive on campus for orientation, we will give you a copy of your schedule.  In future semesters, you will register with the help of your academic advisor.
