A message from the President
At the State University of New York at Fredonia, our commitment lies in fostering an inclusive environment that encourages the expression and exchange of diverse opinions. As a public university, we hold the core belief that every member of our campus community, as well as their invited guests, possesses the right to peacefully voice their views and opinions, regardless of any potential disagreements. We acknowledge the right of protesters to challenge opposing perspectives, as long as it does not impede the freedom of expression of the speaker or disrupt university activities.
At the same time, our number-one priority must be the health and safety of our entire campus community. Hence, we have implemented enhanced protocols concerning the exercise of free speech, which safeguard all individuals involved, including speakers, audience members, and observers.
Please review the content on these pages to familiarize yourself with our policies. Thank you for your engagement and support on this critical issue. We welcome your feedback as we strive to create a campus climate that is welcoming, safe, and inclusive.
Kindest regards,
Stephen H. Kolison, Jr. Ph.D.
President
