Minor Requirements in Psychology
In addition to our B.A. and B.S. degrees, the department also offers three minors in Psychology, the General Psychology Minor, the Industrial-Organizational Minor, and the School and Counseling Psychology Minor.
General Psychology Minor
18 hours in PSY (at least 9 at the upper level). At least one course must come from the physiological or cognitive groups (see information on the major to determine what courses are in these groups), and at least one course must come from the social or clinical/counseling groups.
Industrial/Organizational Minor
21 Hours, distributed as follows:
- Core Group - 12 hours, (all must be taken)
- PSY 129 - Foundations of Psychology
- PSY 200 - Statistics for Psychology
- PSY 317 - Psychological Assessment
- PSY 347 - Organizational Psychology
- Three courses from the following: (9 hours)
- PSY 227 - Careers in Psychology
- PSY 345 - Social Psychology
- PSY 355 - Group Dynamics
- PSY 373 - Human Factors
- PSY 447 - Introduction to Counseling
- BUAD 321 - Management and Organizational Behavior
School and Counseling Psychology Minor
18 Hours, distributed as follows:
- Core Group - 9 hours, (all must be taken)

- PSY 200 - Statistics for Psychology
- PSY 317 - Psychological Assessment
- Three out of the following four courses: (9 hours)
- PSY 364 - Cognitive Development
- PSY 365 - Social Development
- PSY 379 - Child Psychological Disorders (formerly Child Psychopathology)
- PSY 447 - Introduction to Counseling
