Celebrating 37th Annual Awards Ceremony in Conjunction with Chi Alpha Epsilon Induction

The focus of the 37th Annual EOP Awards Ceremony and Chi Alpha Epsilon National Honor Society Induction will once again center on our students’ success. This year’s event will be held on Wednesday, March 19th, 2019 in the Multipurpose Room of the Williams Center at 4 p.m. The Educational Development Program at The State University of New York at Fredonia will recognize the achievement of students who have excelled in the classroom and contributed to the community.

“Celebrating our students' accomplishments in this public forum and acknowledging their academic successes encourages them to remember their power to excel and sets the perfect example for other students to believe in themselves and understand that hard work matters. This event also provides the opportunity for our program to thank the campus and community for their support and assistance in serving EOP students,” said David M. White, EOP Director.

awards include EOP Tutor of the Year, Arthur O. Eve Scholarship, Director’s Award, and the Gregory Antonio Award. EOP students, who earned a 3.00 and above grade point average while completing 12 credits or more for the fall 2018 semester, will receive academic certificates. Community Service certificates will also be presented to those students who did volunteer work.

New inductees will be welcomed into Chi Alpha Epsilon National Honor Society (XAE), Alpha Mu Chapter, during a private induction ceremony preceding the awards program. Inductees include EOP students and Full Opportunity Program students as well. Students who achieve a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better for two consecutive semesters and attend full time are eligible for induction. Inductees will be pinned by the person of their choice during the awards ceremony. Chi Alpha Epsilon stands for Center for Academic Excellence and was founded at the West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 1990. Fredonia’s Alpha Mu chapter started in 1999 and is now up to 282 inductees.

The college community is invited to attend the Awards Ceremony. Please RSVP by March 11 on-line at EOP Awards Registration. Contributions made to the EOP Scholarship and Community Service Fund are greatly appreciated. Monies allow EOP to reward academic achievement and community service and assist its most needy students.
