Aug. 10, 2009 -- "Phoenix rising from the ashes,” dedicated to the memory of rising opera star Lillian Garabedian, ’57, has graced the side of Mason Hall for over 40 years.
Recently, a new plaque was gifted to the university by Music Professor Emeritus Frank Pullano, ’56, and his wife, Sallie (Shapley), ’58. Lillian, a talented musician, died tragically in a plane crash in 1964.
The Pullanos are shown here near the sculpture on Mason Hall.
