Come back to Fredonia, November 9, 2013! The 2013-14 Men’s and Women’s Fredonia State swim team is extending an open invitation to former swimmers, coaches, families and friends to gather at the Steele Hall Natatorium for a celebration of Blue Devil swimming and diving. We invite ALL Fredonia State swimming alums to come back to their old “haunts” and become reacquainted with the smell of chlorine.
On November 9, the present coaching staff would like to recognize the 1988 men’s team and all the returnees before the 1 p.m. meet against Geneseo. We will also recognize the current All –American, Ryan Fuller and Honorable Mention All-Americans, Sarah Ficarro and Ashley Keller.
It’s been 50 years, a half of a century, since Fredonia State began a collegiate swim program under the guidance of Hall of Fame Coach, Charlie Dennis. It’s been 25 years since the 1988 team captured the second and last Men’s SUNYAC Championship!
It is our hope that we can make the weekend a more family friendly affair so you can bring the young ones with you.
Tentative Schedule (more may be added!)
- Noon: Alumni and family gathering in the Bob Steele Room across from the pool
- 1p.m.: Swim Meet Fredonia State vs. Geneseo State
- 4 p.m.: Reception (Swimmers, Parents, Alumni and Families) Bob Steele Room
- 5:30 p.m. (Approximately): Pool Party for Alumni and Families (Life Guards will be watching)
