The Al Dunn Day of Poetry and Prose, which benefits the Albert A. Dunn Memorial Scholarship Endowment and Book Grants given to English majors, will be held Wednesday, April 24, in the Williams Center Room S204,  from noon to 4:30 p.m. The event is now in its fifth year, coordinator Heather McKeever, associate director of development, said.

The English Department will announce this year's recipients of the Albert A Dunn Memorial Book Grants and Scholarship during the event.

The event--which boasted 50 readings last year--will celebrate the literature taught and loved by the late English professor Dr. Dunn for 35 years. It is held during National Poetry Month and promotes the art of reading aloud.

"There is no charge to attend and listen, and, due to its length, it is a come and go as you need to event," McKeever said. "Some faculty brought their classes last year."

Refreshments will be served. The program is being sponsored by the Division of University Advancement, with cooperation from the Department of English, Rockefeller Arts Center and the Department of Theater and Dance.
