Comedy will take center stage – quite fittingly on April Fool’s Day – for “Applause for Paws,” a unique fundraiser SUNY Fredonia’s Interactive Theatre Society will stage on Tuesday, April 1, at 7:30 p.m. at McEwen Room 202 to benefit the Lakeshore Humane Society.
Members of the theatre society, the same troupe that puts on “Terror in the Trees” every Halloween, will lead the merry-making that free and open to the public.
“We have a bunch of improv games planned, and all of them include the audience,” said Brittany Fischer, the society’s public relations director. Time slots will also be open for comics to perform on their own.
“Our aim is to provide interactive entertainment, and we wanted to raise money for the humane society,” Fischer added.
Raffle tickets on a handful of intriguing items, such as a nerd starter kit basket, movie tickets and a gift certificate for tanning sessions will be on sale to generate proceeds to benefit the animals.
Donations will also be accepted at the door.
